Certificación Cambridge en Albamar: alumnas avanzan hacia un futuro global

El Colegio Albamar celebró con orgullo los resultados obtenidos por sus alumnas en el examen internacional FCE (First Certificate in English), parte de los exámenes Cambridge, una certificación reconocida mundialmente por universidades, empleadores y entidades educativas.

Estos exámenes, que evalúan las habilidades de lectura, escritura, comprensión auditiva y expresión oral (reading, writing, listening y speaking), están diseñados para distintos niveles -desde principiantes hasta avanzado- y permiten a las alumnas acceder a nuevas oportunidades académicas y profesionales. Estudiar en el extranjero, postular a becas y mejorar sus perspectivas laborales son solo algunos de los beneficios de obtener esta certificación.

“Estoy aprendiendo inglés como segundo idioma. Estos exámenes nos ayudan a mejorar de forma real y práctica. No solo estudiamos gramática o vocabulario, también practicamos hablar, escuchar, leer y escribir para comunicarnos mejor en el colegio, el trabajo y en la vida diaria”, explicó Matilde Pauvif, alumna del Séptimo Básico B del colegio.

La preparación para esta certificación es rigurosa, pero también profundamente formativa. “Cuando empecé a prepararme para el examen no sabía si lo lograría. Era mucho trabajo: lectura, escritura, audición y expresión oral. Pero me enfoqué y practiqué todos los días. Mis profesoras me apoyaron y creí en mí. Obtener un resultado C1 me hizo sentir muy orgullosa; demuestra que mi inglés es sólido y me siento más preparada para el futuro”, señaló Bernardita Gaete, también alumna de Albamar, en IV Medio. 

El impacto de esta experiencia va más allá del aula. “El examen de Cambridge también es bueno para el futuro. Me ayudó a sentirme más segura usando inglés. Si lo apruebo, puedo tener más oportunidades el día de mañana”, comentó María Ignacia Hormazábal, alumna de Sexto Básico B, destacando la relevancia práctica del proceso.

Para muchas, la preparación fue una instancia de crecimiento personal. “El FCE me ayudó a mejorar mi inglés no solo en clases, sino también en situaciones reales. Aprendí a explicarme, comunicarme y sentirme más segura de mí misma”, agregó Lucía Alviña, alumna de IV Medio. 

Desde el equipo docente, el enfoque ha sido claro: más que un examen, se trata de una herramienta de formación integral. “Cuando las alumnas se preparan para un examen Cambridge, mejoran sus habilidades de forma clara y enfocada. Las animo a considerar una de estas certificaciones: no es solo un examen, es un paso hacia sus metas, su educación y su futuro”, indicó Miss Carolina Álvarez, profesora de Inglés del Colegio Albamar.

El colegio destaca que esta certificación representa no solo un logro académico, sino también un paso firme en el desarrollo integral de sus alumnas. Como comunidad educativa, celebran este proceso como parte del compromiso de preparar a las albamarinas para un mundo globalizado y lleno de oportunidades.

Cambridge Certification at Albamar: A step toward a global future

Colegio Albamar proudly celebrates the success of its students who recently completed the First Certificate in English (FCE), one of the internationally recognized Cambridge English exams. These certifications, acknowledged by universities, employers, and schools worldwide, open doors to academic opportunities, international studies, scholarships, and global career paths.

Designed to assess the four essential language skills -reading, writing, listening, and speaking- the Cambridge exams range from beginner to advanced levels and are structured to prepare students not only for school but also for life.

“I am learning English as a second language. These exams help us improve our English in a real and practical way. When we prepare for the exam we don’t just study grammar or vocabulary, we practice speaking, listening, reading and writing that help us communicate better in school, at work and in everyday life,” explained Matilde Pauvif, a student at Albamar.

While the preparation process is demanding, it fosters discipline, perseverance, and growth. “When I started preparing for the exam at school I wasn’t sure if I could do it. It was a lot of work: reading, writing, listening and speaking, but I stayed focused and practiced every day. My teachers supported me and I believed in myself. Getting a C1 result made me feel really proud, it shows that my English is strong and now I feel more prepared for the future,” shared Bernardita Gaete, who earned one of the highest grades during her senior year.

For many students, this exam became a bridge between classroom learning and real-world communication. “The Cambridge Exam is also good for the future. It helped me feel more confident when I use English. If I pass I can have more opportunities one day,” said María Ignacia Hormazábal, reflecting on the broader value of this experience.

Beyond academic performance, the process strengthened their self-confidence. “The FCE helped me improve my English not just in class but in real life situations. I learned how to explain myself, communicate with others and feel more confident about myself,” said Lucía Alviña, a senior year student.

From the teaching perspective, these exams are seen as powerful tools for focused learning. “When the students prepare for a Cambridge exam they improve their skills in a clear, focused way. So I encourage you to consider working toward one of these certifications. It’s not just an exam, it’s a step toward your goals, your education and your future,” stated Miss Carolina Álvarez, English teacher at Colegio Albamar.

The school views these achievements as a reflection of the effort, dedication, and vision shared by students and teachers. More than a certificate, it’s a milestone on the path to becoming confident, globally prepared individuals.
